Matt's graduation

After a few years of study at Oregon Institute of Technology (baby, multiple trainees at work, and general lack of sleep) Matt has graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Electrical Engineering. As most of our friends know, Matt isn't very forth coming with details that do not pertain to what it is he is currently working on (ie: signing up for graduation before the deadline). Long story short: Matt didn't apply for graduation in time, and was quickly added to the graduation program, but all of his achievements were overlooked. The program stated his name and degree without mention of honors, and he walked across the stage without his honors cords, but................does any of that really matter? No.

Matt worked really hard and the best place I could imagine given him his props is here. Congrats on all of your hard work MJ!!!

Oh yeah! We had dinner reservations at Nostrana, and after we ordered the kitchen caught fire. Drinks were comped and we happily headed off to Apizza Scholls.

Harrison has a pool!

On Harry's first birthday Uncle Randy and Auntie Ellen hooked him with his very own baby backyard pool!

bathing in the sink

The past few months we've been bathing Harry in the bathtub. But, unfortunately he's still a little to small (a couple of slips can really upset a baby!). So! He's bathin' in the kitchen sink now!

Harrison's 1st Birthday!

Harry wasn't really into his party, but all of his guests had a blast! He did enjoy his cupcake though.

Happy Birthday little Harry D.

Mothers Day

Mothers day was nice and sweet. Matt and Harry wood really hard to do make my day enjoyable. In fact the two of them planned an entire weekend of activities I would enjoy.

Saturday we headed off to Canon Beach for cooler afternoon (I believe Hillsboro was 85 degrees! Yikes!) in the sun. We had lunch at Bills Tavern with the Harry man! Harry enjoyed entertaining beach combing patrons by effectively tossing his lunch on the floor, but not before he laughed about it. We walked alonged the beach, laid on the beach, and felt the sand between our toes. Harry. Not really into sand (or grass. my theory........we might have an indoor kid), he toughed it out though.

Sunday, I awoke to the sounds of a hungry baby downstairs. Downstairs???? hmmmmmm......and then I hear it. Clank! "hold on. just a second." Clank again, followed by the refrigerator opening and closing, and then the oven door closes. Matt's making me breakfast! I decide to let him handle everything and read a couple chapters in the book I'm reading before alerting him that yeah, I'm awake. "Is it ok if I come down?" Matt's response, "Yeah." I head downstairs to see Matt's baked homemade buttermilk biscuit, Harry's holding a rose from the garden, and an envelope with my name on it is waiting on the kitchen counter to be opened. The biscuits were very tasty, the rose was very sweet, but the note was awesome. Love Matt so much.

Later Sunday afternoon we visited Portland's Children's Museum.

Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival 2013

I'm twenty-nine years old and ever since I was a little girl I've loved no flower more than the white tulip. And every spring since I was a little girl, I've had the pleasure of receiving white tulips from someone who cares about me. I now get to share (force) my tulip lovin' join onto Harrison now!
