Harry in the Rose Garden

Washington Park's full of different things to do and view. Today we took a stroll in the Rose Garden.

The morning started out slow. Both Matt and I didn't go to bed last night until 3am, and Harrison had us up bright and early at 7am. With little sleep I mentioned we should get up and head to Washington Park. I wanted to hangout, eat breakfast, and take some pictures before the heat kicked in. As you recall from previous posts, we don't do well in the sun (the distads have winter bodies remember). Getting ready to leave the house now takes much longer than 25 minutes. Two hours later we head out the door and loaded ourselves up in the mazda. Right before we pull out of the driveway I realize I've forgotten to pack a receiving blanket. Matt heads back inside, but was stopped at the door. His damn key sticks in the lock, and a very adult Matthew has a very adult tantrum. Kicking the door and tugging at his keys he yells something I can't hear, because the car windows are up. After inside a minute he returns to the car blanketless. Since he can't find a receiving blanket I calmly tell him where to locate one. He heads back inside and he does indeed return with a blanket, but it's one of the blankets thats shrunk in the wash. With rage pulsing through MJ body I decide that maybe I should go inside and grab a blanket. With blanket in hand I retun to the car to see MJ trying to sooth a crying HD. I take the keys from MJ and tell him to sit in the passenger seat so I can drive. Maybe he'll relax??? Nope. He's pissed. I suggest that he stay home, and his answer is, "No." Ok, this days going to suck. As we approach HWY 26 I ask if we should visit some friends in the city? "No. I don't feel like being social." Alrightie. Awwwww......I got it! MJ needs coffee. I ask would you like some coffee? "No." Whatever???? Yes he does or this days really going to suck! I pull off onto the 185th exit, and he asks, "Where are you going?" "to get you some coffee." "I don't need it." "yes you do." Once his coffee was ordered the drivethru barista felt like chit chatting. He asked, "Hows you morning going?" My reply, "Not good." His reaction was one of confussion. I'm guessing no ones every said anything other than "good" to him. He then scrambles and says, "Well. The clouds should clear soon, and it should be a nice hot day." My reply, "Oh. Thats to bad. We don't like hot weather." "Oh. Well. I hope the clouds don't clear then." and he hands us our coffee. As we drive away MJ takes his first sip, and laughs about my conversation with the young Starbucks employee. I knew all he needed was coffee.

Once at the park our stroll was lovely. We stopped and smelled the roses. (hahahaha)
