the life change.....baby

Hey Friends!.........after a long nine months baby Harrison Carter Distad arrived May 30, 2012 at 12:29am. Weighing 8 pounds 1.5 ounces, and 21 inches long.

My pregnancy wasn't the best experience I've ever had, and it wasn't the worst. If I had to give it a value from one to ten. Ten being awesomely great and one being the worst. My pregnancy was a 3. I'm glad to have Harrison, but I will never go through that again! Having little HD around has created a totally new experience and bond between Matt and myself. Watching Matt with the little guy is heartwarming (uggg! yuk I know, but seriously his response and joy to Harrison is truly sweet).

Harrison's now seven days old and he's doing well. Over his last seven days of life he's seen a doctor everyday. Who new newborns needed so many doctors appointments???? I know he had to go under special circumstances, but even non-needy newborns have a few visits during this time. Harrison's now doing great. Eating! Pooping! Peeing! Sleeping!

Now for the cats....Jonas and Lucy are doing surprisingly well. Just this morning Harrison woke up at 5am with a wet diaper. Matt got up to change him while I tried to go back to sleep through the crying (Harrison doesn't like being exposed. Maybe he's modest?). With the morning dawn light bleeding through the window shades Lucy hops up on the bed to awake me. She first squeaks a tiny meow followed by a very strong headbutt to my forehead. When I opened my eyes she gave me this stern look; as if to say, "Can't you hear Harrison crying!! Go do something about it. I looked at her and said, "Ok. Ok. I'm up." She looked satified with herself, as if to say, "Yeah. I did that." Jonas is cautious, but interested in him. He likes to view him from afar. If Harrison's on the sofa Jonas' across the room viewing him silently.
